MAKING TIME - KINGSTON FMP
My foundation final major project, making time, centres on incorporating craft into my everyday routine. My research focused on dying crafts, ivestigating why we are making less and how we value craft. After looking at several barriers like money and space I chose to focus on time and how we can incorporate making into our fast pace modern lives. I looked at my everyday passive actions like brushing my teeth and closing the door to investigate the potential in those movements. My final piece was a knitting machine that uses the action of going up and down the stairs to knit lines. This project was an exploration of processes and machinery, understanding how things work from the most simple to the most complex.
